Review: Go Home Lake, Muskoka

Facts on Go Home Lake

  • Located in Georgian Bay, Muskoka
  • Created in the 1950s by the construction of 2 dams.
  • Named after Go Home Bay
  • Loggers used to send timber down the Musquash River
  • Empties into the Georgian Bay.
  • There are approximately 450 cottages in Go Home Lake

I went to visit my relative's cottage up at Go Home Lake over the long weekend. Go Home Lake is about a 2 hours drive north of Toronto, and is pretty much straight off the 400.  Most of the cottages are only accessible by boat, and other than the ample amount of cottages, it's almost as beautiful as Killarney, which is another 3 hours away.  Overall I had a wonderful time swimming in the lake.

Summary

  • Bottom Line: great cottage getaway that is close to Toronto.
  • Score: 4.5/5
